Argyle ISD facilities are closed until further notice, but we are still instructing. That means that no one attends classes in a building, but students receive instruction from home through Webex Teams, Google Classroom, and other means.

Board Policy EIA (LOCAL) governs grading/progress reports to parents in AISD. The District establishes instructional objectives that relate to the essential knowledge and skills for grade-level subjects or courses. These objectives address the skills needed for successful performance in the next grade or next course in a sequence of courses.
Assignments, tests, projects, classroom activities, and other instructional activities are designed so that each student’s performance indicates the level of mastery of the designated District objectives.
Teachers will continue to review student work while they support off-site instruction. Teachers grade 1-2 assignments per week in each content area, and also offer other opportunities for demonstrating proficiency such as participation, questioning, and collaborating with parents. Teachers during this closure may call the parent and discuss the progress of the child and offer guidance. Parents are partners with the school in this endeavor.
Grades will be recorded to allow parents and students to understand progress.
Grades taken after March 5th, in combination with prior work, will be used to determine progression to next grade in Grades PK-8.
Late work is accepted.
Participation activities such as online class discussion and posting comments on assignments can be counted for grading purposes. Parents may send pictures of work or recordings.

AISD plans to have a graduation ceremony. This may not happen until June or even July, but the plan is for it to happen as soon as possible after social distancing is no longer required. Eagle Stadium is a suitable place for holding the graduation and would give seniors a place of familiarity if UNT is not available.
GPA for seniors was frozen after the third ninth weeks grading cycle, so this closure has not impacted senior GPA or rank.
GPA will be frozen after 27 weeks for this year only for these students.
Middle School and High School students will not have final exams this year. All students in Grades 6-12 will be considered exempt from final exams for Spring 2020.
Lengthy exams are not appropriate because of the closure. The STAAR tests for Grades 3-8 and STAAR EOC tests for English I and II, Algebra I, Biology, and US History were cancelled by the Texas Education Agency.
Recent information from TWU states that a letter grade will be given for the course. This is intended to ensure transferability of the hours from one institution to another and also to ensure that if a student needs a certain grade in a class for admission to a particular program, the grade will be readily available.
